There are several techniques for manual brushes starting from KAI for children (chewing surfaces, external and internal surfaces) over Fones technique (circular movements) to Bass technique (jouncing movement in 45 degree angle).
In terms of electric tooth brushes, it is differentiated between rotating movements and sonic toothbrushes. The latter additionally rinse interdental spaces with the foam mixture. Electric tooth brushes need to be applied to dental rows and individual teeth, jouncing and vibrating is done automatically by the brush.
Both cleaning methods are successful when applied correctly with thorough cleaning taxonomy.
